The Committee

Bamford Pre-school is run by a volunteer management committee, elected annually at our AGM in November.  The elected committee members are generally parents or carers of children attending pre-school, but we welcome anyone from the local community who would like to help.

Management Committee 2020/21

Faye Ollerenshaw, Chair, is mum to Hugo, who attends Bamford Primary school. “Hugo enjoyed every second of his time at Preschool. All the staff are highly dedicated and brilliant at what they do. They help the children to transition naturally in to the setting and help with the move to  Primary school, with whom we have a close relationship. I have been on the committee for a few years, and now taking on the role of Chair. Everyone on the committee brings something different, and all are a great bunch to get to know.  I look forward to seeing you all around Pre-school.

Jeremy Scholes, Treasurer is Magnus Nordhausen Scholes’s daddy. As treasurer, in addition to handling the day-to-day finances of Pre-School, he is responsible for budgeting going forward (the planning exercise to ensure that Pre-School will have the money as we go along to be able to implement the very good ideas which our excellent staff team and committee have ). He is also responsible, amongst other things, for the relationship with the Charities Commission (one of the state bodies which regulates Pre-School).

Helen Scott, Secretary mum to 3 year old Ted.  “Ted joined Preschool at 2.5 years and has loved every single minute!  He especially likes all the outdoor play and Forest School sessions.  Each member of the Preschool team are just wonderful; Ted has come on leaps and bounds since joining and is always excited to go to Preschool.”

Fundraising / Support Committee

Freya Hoggarth, Committee Member, Mum to Poppy who attends Preschool and Freddie who is now at Bamford Primary School. Poppy loves Preschool and has made many great friendships. The staff are fantastic at meeting the needs of all the children whilst making their learning fun. Preschool also have a very close link with the Primary School. When Freddie moved up to the Primary School, Preschool provided a great transition period which supported Freddie and helped to put me at ease. I have been on the committee for a couple of years now and it has been a great way to meet new parents and get involved with such a friendly and dedicated team.

Tordy Fell, Committee Member, “I was excited for Leo to experience Preschool as it offers plenty of opportunities to explore outside and is flexible when meeting the needs of individual children through play.  It is great to be part of the committee so I can support this creative team while our son grows and develops in a fantastic setting.”

We are always looking for new recruits and so if any parents have a couple of spare hours per month and would like to join the team, please speak to one of the committee members for more information.
